Recent Press   >   The Bottom Line: Heidi Roizen Weighs In

For Immediate Release (Woodside, CA) December 10, 2007 - As a leading Silicon Valley entrepreneur and venture capitalist, Heidi Roizen knew all about the bottom line. While in her early 20’s, she earned her BA and MBA from Stanford University and cofounded
T/Maker, a pioneer personal computer software company – making her one of the rare women CEOs in the technology industry. After more than a decade growing T/Maker to $15 million in revenues, she sold the company, and was recruited to Apple as Vice President of Worldwide Developer Relations. However, the job’s travel obligations took its toll on her young family and the corporate life was not for her. That was the impetus to join Mobius Venture Capital as Managing Director. Serving on over 20 corporate boards ranging from 1 to 2,000 employees, Heidi was used to looking hard at figures, except one…she did not like to look at her own.

While her tech career landed her on numerous ‘power’ business lists and made her a wellknown
figure among Silicon Valley’s technorati (USA Today even called her home the social center of Silicon Valley), the long hours and tech lifestyle took their toll. After going from a dress size 8 to 14, Heidi got on the scale one morning, hit an alltime high, and decided that she needed to make a permanent change. She made a commitment to deal with her own personal bottom line…that which falls below the waist.

Heidi dedicated herself to a sensible diet and started exercising while listening to music. A music enthusiast, it occurred to her that it would be even more motivating if the words of the songs actually spoke to her goals and reinforced her motivation to succeed. After searching for music to fit the bill and finding nothing, Heidi decided to fill the void. With the recent release of her first CD, SKINNYSONGS, featuring rock, country and hip hop soon-to-be hit tunes, she is sure to strike a chord with the 50 million Americans who annually vow to lose weight.

Have her new tunes done the trick for Heidi? “ I’m down 30 pounds," Heidi states, “and the bottom line has definitely improved!"

Heidi is available for interviews upon request.
